Rothmans
representative presents Chuckyunere the honour

of the Month for October. The midfield/striker played a big part
in Hibs early season flurry and together with Essien Mbong have
formed one of the best partnerships in the Premier League.
The player of the month allocade which has now been popular for
ages is chosen by local journalists during Premier League matches.
Chuckyunere's form was out of this world last month, no wonder
he won the prize.
His intelligent runs in every part of the pitch mixed with sheer
class and technique made him one of the most marked footballers
in the country. His form has helped Hibernians hovering near the
top of the table. If his form continuos, Hibs might well be one
of the candidates to win the Premier League Championship.
After
concluding Nwoko's deal....
CSKA Sofia still interested in
Giglio
Stefan Giglio will join CSKA Sofia if the crack Bulgarian side
sell their midfield star Yanchev. CSKA are at the moment negotiating
with Turkish side Trabonzspor to sell their Bulgarian midfielder.
Giglio spent a 40-day trial with Bulgarian outfit CSKA Sofia towards
the end of last season.
Such was the impact left by the young midfielder during a couple
of friendly matches that CSKA decided to use him in competitive
league matches and Giglio did not let them down.
He stayed with CSKA till the end of the season and returned to
Malta with his chances of earning a lucrative contract, with the
Bulgarian giants, richly enhanced.
Although many though that Giglio's chances to join CSKA were diminished
after the Bulgarians and Birkirkara agreed for Chuck Nwoko to
start playing in Bulgaria from 1 January, Giglio's Manager, who
is also a Bulgarian believes that finally the Valletta and Malta
midfielder will join CSKA.
Giglio is relishing the prospect to further underline his potential
by playing for CSKA .
Valletta officials have said that CSKA are keen to sign Giglio
and they still intend to seal the deal by the end of this year.
City president Joe Caruana Curran, Coach Krassimir Manolov and
assistant coach Jesmond Zerafa recently travelled to Sofia to
resume their negotiations with CSKA for Giglio's transfer.
Maltese Falcon flies past Lawler
Tony Drago produced a thrilling comeback to storm into the last
32 of the Liverpool Victoria UK Championship in Bournemouth yesterday.
The lightning-fast Maltese No.1 recovered from 6-2 down to beat
Rod Lawler 9-7.
World No.26 Drago fired in breaks of 93, 99, 81 and 75 to make
it 6-6 and then won the last three frames for victory after a
shell-shocked Lawler had gone 7-6 clear.
"You have no idea how much this means to me," a delighted
Drago said. "The tournament is worth extra points and having
already lost in the China and Welsh Open qualifiers, this was
a massive game.
"I played like a fool in the first session, it was like being
in a club and I didn't feel anything.
"So I thought I was out of it, relaxed and played probably
the best four frames I've ever played to come back to 6-6. Then
I realised I could win and became nervous again."
Drago now faces world No.1 Mark Williams tomorrow for a place
in the last 16 but isn't worried about tackling the world champion.
"When I enjoy it against the top players I normally play
well against them. After winning from 6-2 down, I'm not going
to worry about who I play."
