Zeza's
favourite unforgettable column
Joey Saliba
The editor asked me to put together all my thoughts before the PN
Kunsill Generali election, but my bets are that Joey Saliba will
survive the election. I could be wrong though, which would not be
the first time.
And this could be just as well, considering the bad-mouthing he
has been receiving from his fellow Christians.
The telephone call
An under 35-year-old editor in San Gwann had a long conversation
with a fund manager in Valletta.
"Now, look don't mention my name, because they will say that
I am saying this because of my business," he told him.
Dutifully, the editor obeyed and followed the fund manager's advice,
or shall we say leader-in-waiting's suggestion.
Defending the underclass
Varist made a very valid point on his trampoline show on Super Radio
- trap all the big fish instead of John Citizen who abuses the social
services and children's allowances.
One wonders what Varist will say when the benchmarking exercise
is published.
Probably he will say that the person who did not receive his children
allowance because he failed to declare a Lm40,000 income from interest
over savings is a martyr.
Hate is the word
Dr Alfred Sant is said to dislike Mr Bondi. Anyone who knows Mr
Bondi could not say that the feelings are reciprocated. There is
something in the rapport that remains undisclosed and enigmatic.
Dr Sant continues to boycott Mr Bondi but still gives no reasons
why.
The PBS lawyer
The lawyer who represents PBS happens to be a member of Elcom so
when Wenzu Mintoff was censored on Virtwali, the lawyer found nothing
incorrect with having Dr Mintoff state more or less the same thing
about Labour. Rightly so, Dr Mintoff said jew kollox jew xejn'
and the good censors cut off all the references to party financing.
If you ask me I think the PBS are being darn silly.
The Graffiti boys and girls
Apologies are in place to the Graffiti boys and girls. The editor
asked me to clarify the reference to the wording: fascist pigs.
Scared of being the first victim of a political assassination, I
hereby declare that the Graffiti boys and girls have never ever
called the Police nasty words and have only had praise for the men
in blue.
Up in arms
After an in-depth contribution to the bomb scares around the Island,
George Vella was up in arms when it was claimed in parliament in
a rather subtle way that the bomb scare was being orchestrated by
someone from the other side.
This accusation put George Vella in a hyper-rage, which is not too
difficult for this fiery doctor from Zejtun who appears to be fed
on a chilli sauce valium-free cocktail.
