This is MaltaToday
Today is the first Sunday issue of MaltaToday. We are in good company
and in a competitive market, but we believe we have the stuff to
rough it out and be among the leaders.
It would, accordingly, be opportune to emphasise what MaltaToday
stands for.
This is primarily an independent newspaper, but with a self confessed
agenda. We have allegiances but we are willing to change if the
need arises.
So, let no one come out and call us names if we take a stand in
favour of or against a political lobby or a particular institution.
We want to be a liberal publication, and, today, more than ever,
we can gauge that an ever-increasing number of readers are thirsty
for fresh, biting and unadulterated commentaries.
We have opinions and strong beliefs: and we want to campaign for
the true issues of the people, against archaic censorship, for public
sector efficiency, for the introduction of divorce, for the freedom
of information and for more scrutiny of business and politics.
And we are for accountability within the institutions.
Yes, we will make mistakes, but we will try not to. We will be the
first to admit to making them and to make amends.
We are the reader's newspaper but we are not the stuff of tabloids.
We are also caring and social.
And very importantly we offer a different view to the arts, culture,
events, and sports we are a fun newspaper.
Last but not least, we are for Europe, because in Europe we see
Malta developing, growing and evolving into something more.
This is MaltaToday, enjoy it and make use of it.
