'Sant treats people as if they are
actors in a comedy' - John Dalli
FINANCE MINISTER John Dalli yesterday accused Labour leader Alfred
Sant of using the Meinrad Calleja case to tarnish people's image.
Mr Dalli recalled how on the eve of the 1996 general election, the
Labour Party used Meinrad Calleja to discredit him.
"Now the truth has emerged," Mr Dalli claimed.
He continued: "After the lie served him well in 1996, Alfred
Sant targeted the Prime Minister by attacking an important witness
in the case."
Mr Dalli accused Dr Sant of treating people as if they were actors
in a comedy. "He uses people and tries to put words into their
mouth and expects the public to approve and applaud," Mr Dalli
stressed in his no-nonsense style.
The minister concluded by recalling Dr Sant's "rigged election"
as Labour Party leader.
