No water, no food

A MAN who was jailed for 24 hours in September last year with no water and food shot down a statement by the Police that he was offered food and drink.

David Pace who was a witness in a case against a man who hit a horse with a hammer. Mr Pace was jailed for 24 hours by Magistrate Giovanni Gristi for contempt of court.

Mr Pace said it was a lie that he was offered water or food.

He spent a day at the Victoria Police station in Gozo.

"I can tell you that I was offered nothing," he told MaltaToday.

"It is absolutely not true."
