Air Malta seeks chief executive
from foreign pastures
In an unprecedented
move, the national Airline Air Malta is advertising the vacancy
of Chief Executive Officer.
The advert
has appeared in the 8 September The Economist. The job calls for
managing the airline on a daily basis, implementation of a business
strategy, ensuring cutting edge customer service and achieving
strategy and vision for the airline.
The chief
executive is being offered a wage which is commensurate with a
position of this profile and though no figures are given it is
normal that such a salary is not less than Lm100,000 a year.
The chief
executive is not expected to replace the Chairman who presently
is Mr Louis Grech, but his or her arrival will surely re-dimension
the role of the Chairman and the board as a whole.
