Journalists stunned by rat poison incident

Journalists at the news centre of the Public Broadcasting Services are stunned by the news that rat poison was put in tea bags belonging to their colleague, Antoinette Cassar.

Ms Cassar, who works as a clerk/reporter, is not known to have had any quarrels or arguments with her fellow workers.

It is not known whether the Police have been called in to investigate the incident, but the authorities at TVM are taking the matter seriously and viewing it as a sinister occurrence rather than a mistake or prank.

Although the tea bags are not kept in a locked larder, the number of people who have access to them is limited.

The news centre is a separate building from the main PBS offices but the exigencies of the nature of the work calls for the centre to remain open late at night.
