Sexual
orientation discrimination cases to be documented
The Malta Gay Rights Movement announced on Friday that it
will be documenting cases of discrimination on the basis of sexual
orientation
The study will form part of a wider ranging study on the theme
and its incidence throughout EU applicant countries.
The project is being co-ordinated by the International Lesbian
and Gay Association (ILGA), which has a European regional branch
- ILGA-Europe ILGA-Europe holds a consultative status within the
Council of Europe, is a member of the Platform of European Social
NGOs and receives core funding from the European Commission. The
Malta Gay Rights Movement is a full member organisation of ILGA.
The projects local co-ordinator will be the MGRMs
international secretary, Christian Attard, who was recently in
Rotterdam, Holland where he met organisations from other applicant
countries also participating in the project.
At the conference Mr Attard attended several sessions and workshops,
which included a seminar analysing partnership laws in different
European countries.
