Compaq consortium chosen for e-government project

The evaluation committee set up to select a company to coordinate the operations of e-government have finalised their reports. The company chosen is the consortium Compaq, the committee short listed three consortia. The other two consortia were IT Telecom Consortium and iAlliance.

The Compaq consortium is headed by Compaq computer, who are represented with Deloitte and Touche Management Systems and EGS/NIC.
In a statement issued yesterday, Local Councils and Justice minister Dr Austin Gatt said that this was an opportunity to turn Malta into a hub for informatics apart from offering an excellent show piece in e-government.
