Maritime authority defends track

The Malta Maritime Authority was once again back in
the spotlight earlier in the week. There was criticism over the
length of time the MMA took to deliver its report on the sinking
of the Kristal tanker and also the unwelcome news that
Brazil is taking legal action over chemical pollution following
an incident on the Maltese-registered mv Bahamas four
years ago.
Smokers gear up to quit and win

Over 600 people have applied to participate in this
years edition of the Quit & Win campaign, which helps
smokers kick their nicotine habit. Launched on World Health Day,
7 April 2002, Quit & Win 2002 has once again been used by the
Department of Health Promotion as a valuable tool to entice people
to put a halt to their smoking addiction.
