Dont 4get 2 Vote 4 me!

Politicians are finding newer ways everyday to snatch a vote

By a staff reporter

The fight is on, and the candidates are racing to the hustings. 2003 is set to be a clamorous electoral year for all three parties when referendum, local council and general elections will be meshed into what should be the hottest months of the year.

For all parties, this has meant sending their propaganda machines to high gear and starting to play on the generosity of their partisans.

The MLP and PN have already struck hard by launching their referendum campaign well before the Christmas goodwill could steal all the liri from the people’s hearts. At their television stations, both NET and Super One’s celebrity cast and anyone else on the payroll were in cahoots to soak up as much cash from the tax-burdened nation.

Banking on the safest and best suitor they could despatch, Labour deployed Manuel Cuschieri to steer their kitsch bonanza, complete with party leader and deputy keying in invisible figures on a laptop - New Labour’s post-modern vision.

At the end of the day however, it was Hector Bruno’s asinine and rollicking company who were prancing around in the thousands of hard-earned pounds that were snatched away so courteously from the public.
