Despite tendering their resignation during last Wednesdays
national executive meeting, it is still unclear whether the Labour
leadership trio will contest their respective posts once again.
Contacted by MaltaToday, both deputy leaders, Dr George Vella
and Dr Joe Brincat declined to state their intentions

Labour Party deputy leader Joe Brincat took umbrage to comments
made by his colleague Alfred Mifsud in an article
that appeared in maltastar.coms Monday edition. In a letter
posted on maltastar.com on Wednesday evening, Brincat said that
he felt "libelled" by Mifsuds comments

and the current leadership trio is the opposition to the stand
taken by Dom Mintoff and Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici against the ratification
of the EU Accession Treaty
