The total number of caesarean sections carried out in private
hospitals in Malta during 2002 was 114, just over 32 per cent
of all private hospital births, according to statistics released
in Parliament by Health Minister Louis Deguara.
The search for election-defeat scapegoats in the Labour Party
has created a schism between leader Alfred Sant and his erstwhile
former deputy, George Vella.
The Public Transport Association is facing tough times with public
opinion directed against it and the Chairman of the Transport
Authority, Charles Demicoli, insisting the commuter comes first.
It was a cool Alfred Sant that told a recent Labour
Party executive meeting that he was not going to step down from
his post in a years time, contrary to rumours making the
rounds.
