Minor op keeps Sant away
Unknown to the media and most Nationalist MPs Alfred Sant
absence in the ratification of the European Union treaty had nothing
whatsoever to do with making a political point.
The Labour leader who was not present for last Mondays
parliamentary sitting could not attend because he was recovering
from a minor surgical operation. A close aide insisted that it
was nothing serious and that rumour mongering about Dr Sants
health were exaggerations and inventions.
Last Mondays parliamentary sitting was given a miss by
Dr Anglu Farrugia and Marie Louise Coleiro but the two euro-sceptics
had informed the partys whip they could not attend.
