90 day prison sentence for Bay Street
director
A director of Baystreet and Legend Real Estate Ltd has been sentenced
to three months imprisonment for ordering his employees to break
into the premises of one of the Baystreet concessionaires.
George Muscat was condemned by Magistrate Silvio Meli on 3 July
for ordering his employees to break into the premises known as
Il-Grokk, run by Rita Anne Bigeni and a former popular
radio presenter Ray Bajada.
In his decision Meli said there were pending disputes between
the two parties, even in court that had not been resolved.
Baystreet directors Christopher Grech and Paul Camilleri were
acquitted of the same charges.
Contacted and asked to comment on the court decision Muscat
preferred to say nothing.
It is not known whether Muscat has appealed.
