Jimmy for Europe
Jimmy
Magro, former MLP secretary general is so keen to leave Malta
behind him that he has sat for an exam to become a functionary
with the European Union. Each member state has a quota for officers
who may be employed with the commission. The former vociferous
critic of the European Union changed tack on the EU soon after
the national election but failed to gain enough support to get
a place on the party executive and worse still as a candidate
for the Labour party in next Junes European elections. In
the past the Labour party criticised the pro-EU movement for striving
for European accession because it would translate into jobs for
the boys.
