A campaign in the UK has now gained momentum for a mandatory 5 year prison sentence for anyone carrying a knife. This should also be introduced in Malta and our Ministry of Justice should take heed. Anybody found carrying such dangerous weapons in road blocks etc. should be arrested and taken to court. Just think of all the near-fatal stabbings we hear of during the year in Malta, at the bars and night-clubs etc.
All these new mandatory sentences carrying knives etc. would definitely reduce crimes related to knives by an enormous percentage. The menace of knife crime on young people must be tackled now! Make Malta a safer place to live.
