An English friend of mine, Mike Gillingham, has a house in the village of Tangalle in Sri Lanka and is closely associated with a number of families living there. We have set up a fund in Malta to help local people get back on their feet after the disaster we have all heard about.
The aim is to sponsor the purchase of small traditional wooden fishing boats (each costs around £350 including fishing nets) so that they can return to work as soon as possible. Their lost loved ones, unfortunately, cannot be replaced at any price!
He will oversee the actual purchase in person, and I will co-administer the fund and can assure you that every cent will be allocated to this good cause.
