Ever since Ing Ray Piscopo resigned as director of its Environment Protection Directorate in July 2003, MEPA has been without a director. MEPA has organised two calls for applications, but the post remains vacant, even if the duties have been taken over by Godwin Cassar, the Director General at MEPA.
It would appear that the offers made to chosen applicants were not attractive enough, and MEPA has now found it necessary to issue a third call for applications.
“The Director General has been fulfilling the duties of Director EPD since the post became vacant. Two calls for applications were issued but these were not successfully concluded. Selected applicants on both occasions had other more lucrative offers. A new call is currently in the offing,” Mepa’s PRO Sylvana DeBono told MaltaToday.
