Azzopardi’s loan was made before

I act on behalf of Ronald Azzopardi of Howard Street, Sliema and refer to the front page article entitled ‘Shot businessman saves company, owes thousands’ published in last Sunday’s edition of
MaltaToday.
Whilst I will not comment on the current proceedings instituted against Mr Giosue Gauci, in terms of the Press Act I would, on behalf of my client, like to make the following corrections and clarifications:
The article states that two days after that the resolutions confirming Mr Azzopardi as sole director of Sovereign Hotels Ltd were filed with the Registry of Companies Mr Azzopardi had taken “a loan of Lm360,000 from Mario Galea Testaferrata”.
Your readers may wish to note that this is not so. Indeed the public deed published on the 25 February, 2004 had recinded another private writing dated 28 October, 2003. On the 24 January, 2005 Mr Azzopardi filed a lawsuit before the Civil Court to declare both such contracts null and void.
Mr Azzopardi does not have and has never had any relationship with Priceclub Operators Limited nor with any company within the Priceclub Group.

Dr Robert Tufigno
Valletta
