On behalf of the Marsascala Parish Pastoral Council, I would like to show our appreciation for our beloved former Parish Priest, Reverend Fr Anton Cassar, through your newspaper.
Throughout the ten years he has spent in our parish, Fr Tony has always worked relentlessly in the Lord’s pastures. We must say that his great achievements, most of which are not so obvious to an outsider, have left their indelible imprint amongst our community. Surely, one cannot forget the spirituality and unity he has shown among his flock.
Fr Tony was always there for us, no matter what time of day or night, ready to welcome us with open arms and help all and sundry, whatever their difficulty. We can honestly say that he always put everyone who knew him before himself, without fuss or fanfares. Every time he offered a helping hand, it was done in the name of the Lord and out of his great love for his fellow men.
Through your paper, we would like to thank him for his support and guidance to all the Parish Groups. Indeed, he did his utmost to help us all grow spiritually and give without grudge all that the Lord was asking of us.
We wish him all the best for the future. May he succeed in fulfilling his mission as Archpriest of the Parish Church dedicated to St George in Qormi with the same enthusiasm, courage, determination and love as he did in our parish in Marsascala.
We promise that our prayers and love for him will not diminish with time and distance. All the lessons he has taught us and tried to imprint in our souls will not be forgotten.
