Volksbank conference on expanding business central,
eastern Europe and Sicily

Volksbank Malta is organising a conference aimed at Maltese businesses and the potential of developing a wider business network throughout Europe following Malta’s EU accession. The conference, titled ‘Extending Borders: Doing Business in Europe’ will be held on 22 April between 9am and 4pm at Valletta’s Mediterranean Conference Centre.
Topics up for discussion are to include co-operation within the Volksbank network and with its partner bank in Sicily, the developments in the central and eastern European countries, their present government incentives and economies, standards of living, tactics for developing and extending business in these countries as well as the tax agreements and benefits in place.
The conference will be opened by Finance Ministry Parliamentary Secretary Tonio Fenech and will be moderated by Volksbank Malta Managing Director Herbert Skok.
The conference will also provide a line of speakers acquainted with the field of international business. These will include Dr Friedhelm Boschert, Head of Volksbank International AG; Laurentiu Mitrache, Vice-President of Volksbank Romania; Dr Johann Lurf, Chairman of Volksbank Czech Republic; Carlo Negrini, President of Credito Siciliano; Dr Juanita Bezzina, Advisor Corporate Tax Services, KPMG Malta; and Victor Rizzo Giusti, Head of Business Operations at Volksbank Malta.
