An initiative in aid of Daniel Delicata Foundation

During Holy Week, Malta Labour Party Msida took the initiative to show solidarity with all the associations of Msida, by sending them an invitation to co-operate in a fund raising campaign in aid of the Daniel Delicata
Foundation. Funds raised were to be utilised to buy computers for the Fairyland ward in St Luke’s hospital.
The major part of this initiative included a Good Friday exhibition, which took place in MLP club Msida. This sense of solidarity was reflected in the fact that various individuals participated in the exhibition together with
the parish church and boys’ and girls’ MUSEUM sections.
The associations were also invited to participate in a Walk of Hope and Solidarity, which took place on Monday 21 March, 2005. Everyone participated in the walk leaving behind different political beliefs and followed the cross to the parish church, where mass was concelebrated by the Rev Parish priest. After mass, the associations and various individuals gave their donations to Steve and Maria Delicata. The encouraging sum reached the amount of Lm710. The children of Msida Primary School and St Francis school donated a major part of the sum.
Funds raised from the Msida Labour Party club reached the sum of Lm440 thus bringing a total sum of Lm1,150.
I would like to thank the Rev Parish priest, Major and counsellors, Section PN, Melita Band Club, Msida St Joseph FC, Boy Scouts, Head Mistress of Msida Primary School, Head Mistress of St Francis School, Boys’ and Girls’ MUSEUM, Bocci Club, Dr Robert Naudi, family Tedesco and various other Msida associations. From the media, a special thank you goes to Mr Ray Azzopardi from Super 1 Radio, Mr Gino Cauchi of One News and Mr Mario Xuereb from Net TV for their support.
I would also like to thank the various individuals who
contributed to the exhibition and to my friends who worked hard so that the exhibition will be of a high level. Also a big thank you goes to the public who visited our exhibition and gave their donations in aid of Daniel Delicata Foundation.
The success and satisfaction achieved this year was great. This result encouraged us to start working so that next year, with everyone’s help, the result will be even more satisfactory, always with the good intention of improving the quality of life of angels who are recovering in our state
hospitals.
