Our Parliamentarians (all of them 65 honourable men and women) unanimously agreed to give themselves an additional week’s holiday as a sign of their deep respect, sorrow and grieving at the Pope’s demise.
Moreover, our President, Prime Minister and Leader of the Opposition went on a pilgrimage for the funeral services (not on foot, nor by car, ferry or train; neither by Air Malta economy class) but by private jet (at a cost of …) while all other ordinary Maltese citizens had to be content with offering their normal work routine day (in additional to four ‘lost’ holidays) as their prayers.
