British Airways have commenced a new service to Malta International Airport from Manchester. They will be operating five flights a week on this route and, together with the established route to London Gatwick, British Airways are now operating no less than eighteen flights a week from the top two destinations the linked with MIA.
British Airways’ Malta Manager James Stagno Navarra welcomed the flight crew whilst the first passengers from Manchester were greeted with flowers and music at Malta International Airport.
British Airways operated 806 flights and carried a total of 111,030 passengers to and from Malta International Airport in 2004, an increase of 8% in respect of 2003. Manchester Airport is the second most popular destination linked to MIA with 225,434 passenger movements in 2004.
