HSBC out with new generation capital secured growth funds

New European legislation is allowing greater investment freedom which has resulted in the possibility of a broader choice of opportunities to access the growth potential of the world’s investment markets. In this light, HSBC Bank International has just announced the latest tranche of the Capital Secured Growth Funds composed of five new investment funds, some of which concentrate on the UK and Asian equity markets whilst for the first time include a more wide-reaching capital secured commodity fund.
The UK Growth Fund, the Japan Bonus Fund, the UK Bonus Income Fund, the Asia Opportunity Fund and the Global Commodity Income Fund are designed to offer the investor a mix of 3 or 5 year investment terms, growth or income and growth potential with some cases offering additional minimum return at the end of the period. Importantly, all the funds offer FULL capital protection and are denominated in either euro, US dollars or pounds sterling. The minimum investment required is US$/EUR/GBP5,000.
The offer is available between 15 August 2005 and 4 October 2005, but customers who invest up to and including 5 September will benefit from free shares that range from 0.17% to 0.41%, depending on the currency of issue. This new issue is a limited offer and may close early if oversubscribed.
The UK economy has performed well in comparison to its European neighbours and, since 1992, has recorded economic growth. At a time of global economic change, the UK is therefore well-placed to continue to enjoy a period of positive growth. This augurs well for the UK Growth Fund and the UK Bonus Income Fund. On the other hand, Japan, the second largest economy in the world, now appears to be on the road to a sustainable recovery, with growth forecast on the rise, benefiting from the expected upturn in export markets globally. Lastly, the Global Commodity Income Fund is designed to capture growth potential of this diverse market by linking its returns to a basket of 16 stocks selected from the oil, petro-chemicals, industrial metal and precious metal sectors, without exposing the investor to the full volatility that can be present in these markets.
Customers interested in finding out more about these funds can contact HSBC Bank Malta p.l.c. on Customer Services 2380 2380.
