The mouldy right wing and infantile journalism

Reference is made to Matthew Vella’s article “Lecturer takes helm at mouldy right-wing” (MT Sunday 4 September). The very least that could be expected from any journalist was that he gets his facts right in a spirit of objectivity and impartiality. Additionally, given the fact that this was A.N.R.’s very first press release, one should have been inclined towards fairness rather than rushing to print puerile and worn out liberal clichés. Vella let himself and your newspaper down with his diatribes.
Fact No 1: Alleanza Nazzjonali Repubblikana (A.N.R.) is not a “political offshoot of former Norman Lowell acolytes” as your correspondent falsely insinuates.
Fact No 2: We share no truck with the racist libertine right and are proud of our genuine nationalist and traditionalist leanings.
Fact No 3: While A.N.R. has absolutely nothing against the Ave Melita web-site, it is also incorrect to assert that our founding members “congregated” on this web-site’s forum.
