The relationship between deejay John Bundy and construction developer Charles Polidano – Ic-Caqnu, has rapidly deteriorated following the demise of Polidano’s short-lived radio A3FM, which Bundy managed from its start.
A letter presented to the First Civil Court by Bundy’s lawyer is now asking the magnate, whom Bundy had described as a “man who believes in people”, to pay the former station manager Lm11,250 for wages due to him, which includes a Lm3,000 severance pay for the termination of his contract.
3page 1 Bundy was the manager of radio A3FM on a Lm1,500 monthly wage. According to the letter, Polidano was instructed to pay any outstanding wages by the first week of September.
Bundy had called the former station A3 because he had said he was “a firm believer in God”, and that the number three represented the Holy Trinity.
The DJ of Pajjiz tal-Mickey Mouse fame had been enthusiastic at his new partnership with Charles Polidano, describing him as being without pretensions or pride.
“People think he is some sort of dinosaur ready to swallow everything around him. Frankly speaking, in the days I’ve been knowing him, Polidano is a common man, a man who does down to the level of the people on the street,” he had told MaltaToday in an earlier interview.
Bundy had also said Polidano was somebody who “believes in people. And if he believes in someone, he is ready to invest in them.”
Polidano soon encountered a crisis of faith after Bundy’s brainchild stopped transmitting in May this year, less than two years since it was launched. The overhaul was the result of an agreement reached between Polidano, and Calypso Media Communications, who have taken over the management of the new station.
