Commenting on the demise of the 19-year-old girl after falling from the Valletta bastions while attending a New Year’s Eve party, Saviour Balzan (MaltaToday, 8 January, 2006) said that his criticising of Minister Tonio Borg is attributed to him being an incompetent minister and there is no hidden agenda to destroy Minister Borg.
At the same time in his comments Saviour Balzan brought out his hidden agenda and exposed it to one and all. The stand taken against abortion by Minister Borg.

At no point did we describe the minister as incompetent. But it is no secret that Dr Borg’s endeavour to include a ban on abortion in the Constitution was described by this newspaper as a Red Herring.
