Labour Leader Alfred Sant dismissed the UHM Secretary General’s complaint made last week that the party media was ignoring the union in a letter sent to Gejtu Vella yesterday.
Sant wrote that after Vella’s public claim, he demanded an explanation from Super One chairman Michael Vella Haber, who reacted to the complaint in writing in a report also sent by Sant to the UHM secretary general.
“Frankly, from what Dr Vella Haber wrote, it doesn’t seem to me that your complaint was justified,” Sant wrote.
In his reply, Vella Haber said UHM was featured 14 times in Super One’s news bulletins since October last year.
“It turns out that when he made that declaration, Gejtu Vella was referring to previous years,” Vella Haber said. “I personally can’t understand why Vella never made his complaint directly to the station’s
directors.”
