Judge and Magistrates will have their salaries increased by over 19 per cent in the next four years, according to a legal notice issued earlier this month.
The Chief Justice’s salary will increase from Lm15,820 to Lm18,993 by 2010, in regular yearly increments. Other judges will also have their salaries increased from Lm13,697 in 2006, to Lm16,392 in 2010.
Magistrates’ salaries will increase from Lm11,642 to Lm13,933.
The President of the Republic’s salary will also increase incrementally until 2010, starting from Lm19,176 for this year, increasing to Lm22,949 in four years’ time.
The Attorney General’s salary will increase from Lm13,697 to Lm16,392 in 2010.
