Maltco Lotteries, the Greek company that was given the exclusive licence to operate the national lottery monopoly, has pulled out of the national broadcasting station TVM and will be only transmitting its live draws on party stations and exclusive Melita Cable channels.
In a statement issued by the company last Wednesday, the company said that from this weekend, the live transmission of the Saturday lotto and Super 5 draws will be limited to Melita Channel 4, Melita Digital Channel 106, Net TV and Super 1 TV.
PBS sources said the broadcasts on TVM cost Maltco less than Lm50,000 a year.
