Nowadays “racial discrimination” dominates our media. However, first and foremost the Church and relevant organisations should condemn the discrimination that is being created between the younger generation, and the more mature ones. During the past Youth Day celebrations, has someone brought to the attention of the authorities concerned the fact that youths are mainly targeted to shoulder the burden of the increased pension retirement age? One must remember that the Holy Bible portrays “work” as a punishment (story of Adam and Eve).
In other letters and articles I proposed the following gradual increase in retirement age. Those who are 55 and below will have to work until 65, those who are 56 would work until 64, and so on, until you arrive at those who are 59 and 60 who would obviously be exempted (i.e. retire at 61). If politicians do not like my genuine fair proposal, please then at least, stop saying that you wish us well (for the youths), that pensions are a national problem, and that it is an urgent issue. These are all lies! In this country, it seems that the sun does not rise the same for all!
From now on, every morning whilst going for work I have to remember that I have to work for: 1) the invalid who injured himself due to carelessness (such as bad driving habits); 2) the lazy guy who was boarded out and works illegally; 3) the ex-soldier and ex-policeman who by 45 are already out of service, doing other work without declaring their income; 4) the illegal immigrants that are continuously invading our shores; 5) the countless number of baby-boomers that were born after the war; 6) the lucky guys who will retire early on the sole merits that they are a bit older than me; 7) the thousands of workers who receive salaries during non-productive vacation seasons, whilst working part-time galore; 8) the elderly (especially women) who seem to be immortal; 9) the drug addicts who are “mangia passeggia” and planning where to make their next robbery; 10) the criminals behind bars doing nothing (unlike other countries); 11) the mentally disturbed patient who unfortunately fell into depression because he shouldered more burden that he could possibly support; 12) those registering for work, and always refuting work, or work illegally; 13) and finally for myself, if I manage to survive until 65!
