Shameful cabinet decision

And so the Cabinet, undoubtedly made up of enlightened persons, came up with the silly and obnoxious decision to propose more land for development. This when we have a surplus of about 20,000 dwellings lying idly in all streets of practically every town and village. This is also when the Cabinet has not as yet found the right amount of courage to change the existing archaic Rent Laws which would probably push more property onto the market consequently reducing the exorbitant prices of property. With increasingly less stretches of land wherein our children can relax and enjoy themselves, with increasing breathing problems due to asthmatic attacks thanks to overworked quarrying activity, this senseless decision leaves very little doubt that it was definitely (NOT) in the national interest but rather in the Nation(alist) interest. Shame on such a decision and may every environmentalist in these isles and tree hugger condemn this entire Cabinet to oblivion come Election Day. This has been a truly sad day for Malta. We had got used to direct ministerial interference in the “naughty, bad days” of Labour rule in the eighties. Now we have had this entire Cabinet interference which will result in the equally disastrous outcomes. You have all let us down. In whose interests are you acting?
