The Hilton Malta has achieved a remarkable result in an EU Eco-label audit which was conducted by the Malta Standards Authority. The Hilton fulfilled the 37 mandatory criteria, and also fulfilled a number of optional criteria. In fact The Hilton Malta was awarded 30 points out of the 47 optional criteria.
The EU Eco-Label scheme is an officially recognised certification aimed to help European consumers to choose greener and environmentally friendlier accommodation services. The logo symbolises good environmental performance and gives assurance of added quality for consumers choosing a hotel.
By the end of the audit, the MSA Chairman who carried out the audit, complimented the Hilton Malta on this achievement and said that he will be sending a positive assessment for recommendation to the EU Eco-Label commissioner for hotel accommodation.
The EU Commissioner will be visiting Malta on the 27th of June for a seminar at The Hilton Malta. He will be officially awarding the Hilton Malta with the European Eco-label certification and will also discuss the EU Eco-label promotion.
