When giving a vivid description of the state of the street ‘by the Naxxar church’, I presume Saviour Balzan was referring to Parish Street behind the Naxxar parish church. (2 July, 2006).
The Council at the beginning of the year coordinated plans between various entities responsible for the state of the street and all was set for the street to be completely reinstated in March or April. Various snags arose which now have been totally resolved. The tender has been awarded and the necessary permits obtained. Work will start on the morrow of the end of the Trade Fair. Even Mr Balzan would agree that it would make no sense to have a main thoroughfare into and out of Naxxar dug up and closed at the very time of the year when traffic is at its peak.
