The new face of the Gonzi administration is arriving straight from Paris; Josephine Vassallo a former officer responsible for foreign investment in the Maltese embassy in Paris for the last four years has been appointed press secretary at the Office of the Prime Minister, replacing Leonard Callus who will be appointed deputy head of the prime minister’s secretariat.
The Prime Minister spotted Vassallo on his latest visit to Paris and approached her directly to lure her to Castille. Fluent in French, the former model and later a former sales and marketing manager at Standard Publications is expected to bring a softer approach to the prime minister’s office although she is bound to face a gruelling time in the run-up to the next election.
