Where are the patriots when you need them?

I would like to ask what happened to the thousands that ran out after each game of the World Cup to carcade and hoot horns all around Malta? On Wednesday night Malta won a qualifying game against Hungary, which I guess it was our own little world cup, I immediately drove towards Spinola to join the fun. However I was totally disappointed that I didn’t even see one flag of Malta being waved, and this is only few months since the time I recall about a thousand of flags of various countries being proudly displayed on top of cars. I’m no fan of carcading especially for foreign countries but I wanted to show the national team my support for their victory. Unfortunately not many had the same feeling, maybe because Italy was playing at that time, who knows? I’ll just conclude with a question to all those who claim to be patriotic. What happened on Wednesday night?
Now is the time to shout: Viva Malta!
