A soldier, who was arrested and charged for murder is among three people who have this year lost their employment within the public service.
In a parliamentary question answered by Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi, the other two sacked employees were from the works department and the agriculture department.
Meanwhile a total of 58 public officials have been served with an interdiction injunction over the past year.
Six of the interdicted public officers worked at the Ministry of Education and were respectively charged with drug trafficking, misappropriation, corruption of minors, importation of pornographic material, caught under the effect of drugs while at work.
Within the police force, 10 officers were dismissed from duty for a series of criminal offences, including drug trafficking, attempted murder, illegal use of a fire arm, circulating false currency, violence and misappropriation.
Another 11 public officers dismissed and interdicted were employed within the Ministry of Health.
The Prime Minister’s office too had an interdicted employee, an individual who was charged with drug trafficking.
