I have to admit that I support the Hunt-Trap and Ego-Conservation fraternity’s street protests, provided they refrain from flaunting hanging rabbits and birds (Animal Welfare Act my foot!). In fact, I hope such parades are held at least every Saturday and Sunday – afternoons included for the more fervent ones.
Nonetheless, I’ll excuse myself from joining these pilgrimages, since I have pledged to accompany my children for long-denied peaceful outings in the countryside, now that finally it will be rid of the grim looking, gun brandishing, and cage-minded egoistic personalities, now so gathered.
Hopefully such urban street functions can remain a fixture, so that family outings in what is left of our natural open spaces, can gradually be regaled with the astonishing sight and sounds of our fellow serene feathered creatures, instead of the sickening camouflaged pretentious wannabe marines!
