MaltaToday announces midweek edition

MaltaToday’s readers will be able to enjoy a midweek edition of the fresh, crispy and investigative Sunday read from 18 April.
At a pre-launch held last Friday at Capua Palace, MediaToday’s Managing Director Roger de Giorgio announced the arrival of the Wednesday edition of MaltaToday, promising to carry on engaging readers through the newspaper’s trademark design and incisive approach to news.

“Reader-driven content is changing the face of newspapers worldwide, and Malta is no exception,” de Giorgio said. “The central protagonist of MaltaToday must remain the reader, and for this reason the mantra that ‘Content is King’ will continue to form the centre of our focus.”
Speaking to a hall packed with advertisers, journalists, political party secretary generals and opinion makers, de Giorgio outlined MediaToday’s philosophy that will be incorporated into the fast-read Wednesday edition, under the editorship of Matthew Vella who is at present the editor of Business Today – another publication in the MediaToday stable.
“Our brand value thrives on the independence of our newspapers from governmental, institutional or commercial control,” de Giorgio said. “We are happy to appeal to independent-minded persons and attempt at all times to be in tune with their instincts. Our editorial policy carries no hidden agenda and is anchored to the values of accountability, transparency, tolerance and solidarity. We are fully conscious, not only of our duty to inform, but especially of our readers’ right to know. The acquiring of information and the placing of news analysis at the disposal of the consumer serves to empower our readers, who are ultimately the real owners of our publications.”
MaltaToday midweek will distinguish itself from the other English language dailies in carrying on the in-depth analysis one finds on the Sunday edition as well as fresh reports from Parliament and the law courts that will remain uncovered in the other newspaper.
“It is with this in mind that we are encouraged to further serve our readers by engaging with them no longer exclusively on a Sunday, but also on Wednesdays, when the news can be further analysed as events unfold,” de Giorgio said.
