May I bring to the notice of the appropriate authorities i.e. police, the ADT and local wardens and the local council of Paola, about the tribulation and hassle that we the residents of the road (and roads adjacent) in front of Corradino Correctional Facility (the prison) when the relatives of prison inmates come to visit them (especially on Sunday mornings).
Now that the this once wide road has been considerably reduced in width by widening to gigantic proportions the pavement and reducing considerably the parking spaces, why didn’t they consider having cars parking with their front to the pavement instead of ‘parallel parking’?
But back to the present situation: these inmates’ relatives arrogantly park haphazardly, double-parking, in front of garages, with the result that a chaotic situation is created, but even though the local police station is situated in the same road, there’s never a policeman in sight and neither an ADT official or the famous traffic wardens. The buses add to the confusion by not parking in their respective bus stop bay near the police station. God help us if any concerned individual in an ambulance happens to get caught in this tragic situation.
And incidentally these prison inmates’ relatives are arrogant to the point of being dangerous, because if you ask them to refrain from parking in front of your garage or your vehicle they resort to swearing, personal offences and threats to person and property. Everyone is afraid to report these incidents to the police in fear of these threats of vandalising and injury to self and family.
Are the law-abiding and tax-paying residents of lower side of Paola going to continue in this situation? Respective authorities, get off your armchairs and take the proper remedies.
