May I bring to the notice of the appropriate authorities - i.e., the police, the ADT and local wardens, plus local council of Paola - the tribulations and hassle that we the residents of the road (and roads adjacent) in front of the Corradino Correctional Facility when inmates’ relatives come to visit (especially on Sunday mornings), now that this once wide road has been considerably narrowed by widening the pavement to gigantic proportions, considerably reducing the parking spaces (incidentally, why didn’t they consider the “nose to pavement” option instead of parallel parking?)
But back to the present situation: these inmates’ relatives arrogantly park haphazardly, blocking garages, other vehicles, etc., creating chaos. But even though the local police station is situated in the same road, there’s never a policeman in sight, nor any ADT officially or the famous traffic wardens, either. The buses add to the confusion by not parking in their respective bus stop bay near the police station. God help us and any concerned individual if an ambulance happens to get caught in this tragic situation.
And incidentally these prison inmates’ relatives are arrogant to the point of being dangerous, because if you ask them to refrain from parking in front of your garage or your vehicle they resort to swearwords, personal offences and threats to person and property. Everyone is afraid to report these incidents to the police in fear of these threats of vandalism and injury to self and family.
How long must we law abiding and tax paying residents of lower side of Paola put up with this situation?
Respective authorities: get off your armchairs and take the proper remedies.
