Teething problems

Your article on the Valletta parking problems did not refer to the impossibility faced by upper Old Bakery Street residents, who have to compete with visitors who park there every day to go to the cinema, the Manoel Theatre, or just to visit Valletta any evening. These visitors have to go past the available parking spaces, as this street is the main entrance, and fill them up in no time.
There just aren’t enough parking spaces for the residents. It has been noted that there are more residents’ parking spaces in St Pauls Street, where there is nothing to attract visitors.
We all know that there are teething troubles in any new initiative; this is just one that should be remedied asap. The whole project was ‘to give the City to its residents’, not make it impossible to find where to park.
