Cacopardo: a case of political discrimination

Adriana Borg
B'Kara

Following recent attacks on Architect Carmel Cacopardo, the investigator at the MEPA audit's office, I would like to declare my support for this man whose insistence on statutory correctness in the fulfilment of MEPA's remit is remarkable.
To me this is a case of political discrimination simply because he was seen chairing an AD meeting, as well as an attack on freedom of speech when airing his views on a mega institution like MEPA which is weak with the strong and strong with the weak.
A person being punished in this way in 2007, Malta, makes me ask: When are the Maltese going to mature politically and start using their vote without passion but wisely?
