Gaza: lies justify the murder of the innocent

The US and Israeli controlled media is at it again. As we had been bombarded with lies about weapons of mass destruction before the aggression against Iraq, the airwaves are now being filled with lies about what triggered the Gaza carnage against the Palestinian population and the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian refugees in that blockaded concentration camp.
The biggest lie is that the aggression against the Gaza civilian population was in response to Hamas’s rocket attacks and that Hamas broke the truce.
But the opposite is true. The Kassam rockets were fired into Israel only in response to the continuous attacks from air, sea and land by Israeli forces in both Gaza and the occupied West Bank targeting residential areas, schools, mosques, and UN refugee centres among others, which killed scores of innocent civilians, half of them children, and the barbaric blockade which was starving the Palestinian refugees amassed in the Gaza reservation.
As for the events which led to the current crisis, it has to be underlined that Hamas, the only truly democratically elected government in the Arab world, had strictly been observing the cease-fire agreement brokered by Egypt and refraining itself and other groups from retaliating against Israel, even in the face of constant Israeli breaches of the cease-fire which saw more than 1,500 Palestinians killed half of which children, from the first unilateral truce of Hamas in 2005 to the build up of the current onslaught.
But then came the Israeli air-strike of November 4, 2008, which killed 5 people including two children and injured and maimed many others. It was this breach of the cease-fire by Israel added to the unbearable inhuman embargo of the territory, which led Hamas to respond, albeit quite ineffectively with its modified firework petards.
Indeed Israel and the US had the attack on Gaza discussed and planned from months before and the Jewish fundamentalist state tried in every way to provoke Hamas before the latter fell into their trap. But Israel finally got its way and with US blessing and our media’s silence and twisting of the facts.
Ironically, the way the Palestinians are considered and treated by their Zionist oppressors now, very much mimics the way the Nazis used to consider and treat the Hebrews themselves in the Holocaust of the 1930s and 1940s.
