Two fires being investigated

Police are investigating two fire incidents which occurred Monday night.
The first case happened at around 12:45am, when police were alerted to a fire in a shopping complex in Antoine De Paule square, in Paola. Police arrived on the scene to see smoke coming out of a cafeteria, which was closed at the time. The fire was put out by the Civil Protection Department.
Later, at around 2:15am, the police were informed of a fire on another establishment, on Marsamxett Road in Valletta. A restaurant’s door was found to have been set alight, with a canopy, chairs and other street furniture catching fire. The fire was put under control by the police.
Duty Magistrate Antonio Vella launched an inquiry into both cases.
