Who is responsible for the ADT disaster?

I think I speak on behalf of the hundreds of people (including many new and used-car dealers) who over the past months have been put through, and are still going through hell.
I am referring to the ridiculous state of affairs at ADT’s licensing offices. No amount of excuses will justify the total disorganisation at this department. Numerous letters, articles, and blogging on local websites have led us nowhere. Our complaints and grievances are completely ignored, our telephone calls remain unanswered. Overworked staff are now blaming mismanagement by their very own superiors. It was only last week that I at long last received a message from ADT’s communications officer in reply to our numerous letters to the newspapers, and asked to “contact” a Miss Borg. That overdue gesture is now too late. It is all the public that needs attention, and the licensing office which needs overhauling, so that we can get some professional service we can rely on.
It is in this regard that Ms Borg should reply to the hundreds of letters appearing on the newspapers about ADT, and give us all some ‘‘official’’ direction as to how and when we can expect some efficient service.
Where do the Chairman, the CEO or the LTD director feature in all this? Who is in charge? Who do we speak to? Letters about ADT are always ignored, as are the persistent reports in this newspaper. If that is not the epitome of arrogance, I do not know what is.
The ministry’s continuous excuses are nothing but eyewash, and an insult to our intelligence. Hundreds of people queuing up for hours on end, in the heat of summer and now in the bitter cold mornings, most of whom are then refused service for some inane reason. Nothing but delaying tactics are the order of the day.
To add insult to injury, we hear reports of ‘certain’ car dealers being handed tens of completed transfer forms when we are told that the maximum is three. If this is correct, then an inquiry is called for.

After a whole year of being taken for the proverbial ride – that’s right, one whole year – and numerous empty promises, I think it is high time that someone is held accountable for all this. These are supposed to be responsible people being paid very high salaries out of our taxes but they have not delivered, despite the Minister’s promises a year ago.
To think we used to complain under the previous administration that we had to wait a couple of days to register a car, or an hour to transfer one. Frankly, as one frustrated dealer put it, whilst at the end of a never-ending queue, “it seems those were the good old days”.
