Rural odours in San Lawrenz

With reference to the article “Mushroom farm developers says Gozo residents are used to rural odours”, published in your newspaper on Sunday 23 August, kindly permit me to comment on a quote by the developers saying that residents of the locality of San Lawrenz are used to these “rural odours”.
Such a comment strengthens my own and my Council’s beliefs that such a farm should not be permitted on the proposed site. We cannot imagine how such a project, which is bound to increase “rural odours”, can be developed in the same area where one of the world renowned hotel chains – Kempinski – chose to have their own hotel on our islands. I’m sure that Kempinski evaluated the potential of San Lawrenz, even taking into consideration the “rural odours”, before deciding to invest in our locality.
