AD, still the same

Allow me to reply to a letter (‘PN still the same colour’) by Ralph Cassar in his capacity as secretary-general of Alternativa Demokratika (The Times, 12 December, 2009) by replying that it is – or should now be – clear that former Nationalist Party chairman/president Victor Scerri was singled out for a hate (persecution) campaign by so-called environmentalists only because he happened to be a prominent Nationalist Party candidate.
There were, at least, two important points which the correspondent – who sports the green colour not only due to his political affiliation but also because he is green with envy at anything Nationalist – evaded in his article when referring to the ‘Xarabank’, 4 December (Television Malta) programme which are the facts that Victor Scerri had obtained a MEPA permit for Bahrija; and that Astrid Vella has applied for a swimming pool on the roof of her private residence from MEPA.
One wonders why Ralph Cassar only criticizes the Nationalist Party and never censures the Malta Labour Party in his writings. This is because as usual, these so-called environmentalists have (like the proverbial apples) turned from green to red.
